Until January 19, 2025 (Sun.), an exhibition commemorating the 5th anniversary of [Fukuda Art Museum] (Ukyo-ku, Kyoto, Kyoto), "Miracle that landed on Arashiyama, Kyoto! The world premiere of Jakuchu Ito's extremely rare scrolls! is now being held.
The world premiere of "Kasozukan (Scroll of Fruits and Vegetables)" painted by Jakuchu in his 70s, about 240 years ago, in Kyoto, where he was born and raised. Also on view is the scroll "Jokyousyu", which was added to the Fukuda Collection in May of this year, and is a print depicting the scenery that Jakuchu and Taisuke saw while traveling down from Kyoto to Osaka by boat.
The exhibition will also focus on the Chinese painter Shin Nanpin and his student Yuhi, who influenced Jakuchu, as well as the painters Oukyo Maruyama and Soga Shohaku. and Soga Shohaku.
The title of this exhibition was chosen to attract the attention of younger visitors. This is a rare opportunity for not only Jakuchu lovers, but also for those who are not familiar with art to fully experience the charm of Jakuchu Ito.
