Kyoto Ekimae Bar Jyurakudai opened near Kyoto Station.
February 3, 2024 open
An izakaya with the concept of "delicious tofu in a casual setting" opened within walking distance from Kyoto Station. Kyoto is associated with tofu, but owner Shinichi Nonomura felt that "tofu in Kyoto is a bit of a hurdle. He opened the restaurant in hopes of making tofu cuisine more easily accessible.
All tofu and fried bean curd served are handmade in the restaurant, and the ingredients are soy milk made from domestic soybeans purchased from a yuba store in Kyoto.
The fries are deep-fried right in front of you, so you can enjoy the taste of freshly made fries.
The famous lemon sour uses homemade lemon syrup made with a recipe directly from the Robata-yaki restaurant "Shibuya Yasu Tsuji Honten" in Yamashina, which is the sister restaurant of Shibuya. The acidity of the lemon and the sweetness of the syrup blend together to create a refreshing drink. For drinks, we also recommend the sake made with homemade soy milk.
The name of the restaurant [Kitsune Biyori] means "good weather for everything, good encounters, and good luck," as it represents a sunny day despite the rain, and is derived from the fox that loves fried bean curd. The restaurant is sure to become a favorite of many people for its affordable tofu cuisine.
