BISTORO MAUMU (Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto) is located just a short walk from Shijo-Karasuma. The owner, Mr. Hasegawa, opened the restaurant with the idea of "creating a French restaurant that is accessible to everyone.
For lunch, you can enjoy a croissant set, croque-madame, and other dishes similar to those served in French cafes, and for dinner, you can enjoy casual French and Italian cuisine while sipping on drinks, offering different ways to enjoy yourself during the day and night.
The first floor has a relaxed counter seating area and the second floor has brightly lit table seating. The two spaces with different atmospheres also help to differentiate the restaurant for lunch and dinner.
Lunch recommendations include quiche lorraine baked with thick tart dough and onion gratin soup made by frying plenty of onions over low heat for a long time. The freshly made deliciousness will make your cheeks relax.
In the evening, enjoy snacks from around Europe with a glass of wine carefully selected by the sommelier.
