The "Festival of Kyoto Cuisine at Ninna-ji Temple, a World Heritage Site" will be held for two nights only on November 4 (Sat.) and 5 (Sun.), 2023, at Ninna-ji Temple, the head temple of Omuroha sect of Shingon Buddhism, which is registered as a World Cultural Heritage site.
At the festival, guests will be able to enjoy cuisine prepared by 16 Kyoto's long-established ryotei restaurants, including Kikunoi and Nakamura-Ro, in a palace that has been closely associated with aristocrats, and will also be treated to a performance of Kyoto-style dancing by gei-maiko. In addition to the historical experience of Kyoto, visitors can enjoy a luxurious time as if they were touring the best Kyoto cuisine restaurants.
In addition, visitors can enjoy the fantastic illumination of the sea of clouds in Kondo (a national treasure), which is usually closed to the public, and stay overnight in the Shorin-an hermitage, which is usually closed to the public, during the two days of the festival.
