Rokuo-in Temple
Rokuoin Temple was built by Ashikaga Yoshimitsu in 1379 (the first year of the Koureki era), and its origin is the pagoda that opened Hodananji Temple.
Special nighttime viewing will be held from November 15 (Fri.) to December 8 (Sun.), 2024. New stones have been placed on both sides of the bamboo grove, which is typical of Arashiyama, and visitors will be able to walk around during the illumination. The Shariden, which underwent three years of restoration work and was completed in October 2023, will also be beautifully illuminated. In 2024, a "Saga Kyogen Premium Day" will be held, allowing anyone to view a short performance of Saga Kyogen.
