Chion-in Temple

Chion-in Temple is the head temple of the Jodo sect of Buddhism and was founded in 1175 by Honen Shonin, the founder of the sect, who built a hermitage near the present Mikado Hall.
During the autumn period from November 14 (Thu) to December 1 (Sun), 2024, the Yuzen-en Garden, a garden associated with Miyazaki Yuzenzai, the founder of Kyoto Yuzen, Japan's largest wooden double gate "Sanmon," the Women's Slope, and the Hojo Garden will be lit up. The vast grounds illuminated are a sight to behold.
