Located about an hour and a half drive from Kyoto Station, Kyotamba Town has a peaceful rural landscape surrounded by mountains. The town is known as a treasure house of food, with a wide variety of foods such as matsutake mushrooms, sweetfish, venison, and wild boar meat, in addition to vegetables and fruits, thanks to the preservation of nature, fertility of the land, and large temperature differences between day and night. The town has a winery, and its Tamba wine, which makes the most of the flavor of grapes grown in this rich region, has won a gold medal at the Monde Selection in Belgium for six consecutive years. The dinner venue for this event was an open-air restaurant overlooking the vineyards at the winery [Tamba Wine].
