［Keifuku Electric Railway Co. has announced that the first of seven new "KYOTRAM" train cars scheduled for introduction on the Randen (Keifuku Electric Railway Arashiyama Line) will make its debut in the spring of 2025.
The concept of the car body design is "a streetcar that exists together with the city, people, and lifestyle of Kyoto. As a symbol of the streetcars that have been running in the urban area of Kyoto for over a century, a traditional round form was adopted for the leading part of the car. The body is based on Randen's symbolic kyomurasaki color, with a contrasting white, black, and gray color scheme and a silver waistband.

In conjunction with the debut of KYOTRAM, a new Randen logo was also established. The new logo mark traces back to the origins of the two Chinese characters "Arashi" and "Den," and combines elements such as the Kyoto-like "grid pattern" of the cityscape, the symbolism used in "Genji Kou," and the "bamboo-network pattern" reminiscent of the bamboo forests of Arashiyama. The symbol mark is a fusion of elements such as the Kyoto-like "Goban" street, the symbolism used in the Genjiko incense, and the "Ajiro pattern of bamboo" reminiscent of the bamboo groves of Arashiyama.
The start date of the "KYOTRAM" will be announced in late January. We look forward to seeing the new train, which will blend in with the scenery of the "city" while adding a splash of color to our daily lives.
