PR
The "Kyoto Cooking Classroom for Parents and Children," which was popular last year, will be held again this year for elementary and junior high school students living or going to school in Kyoto City and their parents.
Kyo Ryori is not only for eating, but also for the presentation of dishes, utensils, and other attractive aspects. This year's event was planned with the hope that children would become more familiar with Kyoto Ryori, which is the pride of Kyoto and a registered intangible cultural asset, and learn that it is a culture that should be carefully handed down to future generations.
In the course, participants will learn about the history of Kyoto cuisine, as well as the tableware and wagashi (Japanese sweets), and in the hands-on experience, they will learn how to paint tableware, make wagashi (Japanese sweets), and prepare powdered green tea.
Enjoy learning about traditional Japanese culture with lectures from professionals in various fields.
Take this opportunity to experience the charm of Kyoto cuisine with your child.
