About 30 brands of mizumazuki are on sale in the food section of the basement floor of Kyoto Takashimaya S.C. in preparation for the "Natsukoshi-no-harae" on June 30 (Sunday). This is the only time when a wide variety of mizumazuki, from authentic mizumazuki to different types of mizumazuki, will be available in the store.
The triangular shape of mizumazuki represents ice to ward off the heat, and the red color of azuki beans is meant to ward off evil spirits.
