In order to solve the problem of congestion on some city bus routes in Kyoto, the "Sightseeing Express Bus" began service on Saturday, June 1. One route runs from Kyoto Station to Gojozaka near Kiyomizu-dera Temple, and the other route runs from Kyoto Station to Ginkaku-dera Temple via Gojozaka, Gion, and other sightseeing spots, in order to separate the use of the buses by citizens and tourists.
It operates only on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays, and the fare is 500 yen for adults and 250 yen for children. Subway and bus one-day passes are also available, but are not covered by the Keiro Pass or commuter passes.
