From February 2 (Fri.) to 4 (Sun.), 2024, "Somehow Stopping by Exhibition" is being held at [Shinpukan] (Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto City).
The exhibit showcases the Loit, a cycle mobility vehicle of the future. The name "Loit" is derived from "Loitering," which means "to eat on the road," and it proposes a new form of vehicle, not as a means of transportation that seeks speed, efficiency, safety, or other comfort, but as an experience that enriches transportation itself.
In addition to the experience of test-riding Loit, the exhibit will showcase each and every component of the bike. Visitors will be able to experience the saddle that feels the heartbeat, the handle that expresses emotions, and the pedals that convey intentions, as well as the design that allows them to become attached to it as a pet-like being that can communicate with people.
For example, the steering wheel, which conveys intention, allows us to get off the beaten path through conversation with the vehicle. It is likely to connect us to beautiful scenery and delicious restaurants that we could not encounter if we were just heading for our destination in the shortest distance, such as, "The right handlebar moved, so let's go to the right." This exhibit expanded my dream of naming my bicycle like a pet and exploring Kyoto in the future.
