Kyoto Porta, a commercial facility directly connected to Kyoto Station, will undergo a large-scale renovation from February to May 2024. A total of 38 stores will be renovated and reopened in sequence, including 19 new stores, which will be the first in western Japan, the first in Kansai, and the first in Kyoto, and 19 stores that will be relocated or renovated. Restaurants will also be awarded Bib Gourmand prizes and will be the first restaurants in Kansai and Kyoto to open. The retail stores are scheduled to open in March, and the restaurants in April or later.

In the south area on the Kyoto Station Building side, a number of stores popular among Generation Z are opening for the first time in Kyoto, including FOREVER 21, a casual fashion brand from the U.S. that has re-launched in Japan. The cosmetics brand EtoVos will make its first appearance in the Kyoto Station area, and there will also be an abundance of stores that offer high-quality lifestyles for adult women.
In the west area on the Kyoto Station underground shopping center side, women's fashion targeting the millennial generation will be strengthened. The mode brand "Halle" will open its first women's stand-alone store in the Kansai region.

In terms of restaurants, Kanazawa Maimon Sushi Tamahime, a counter sushi restaurant by Kanazawa Maimon Sushi, will open for the first time in the Kansai region on the 11th floor of the Kyoto Station Building (Porta Sky Dining), and Teppan-yaki Yakitori Kazu, which has won a Bib Gourmand award, will also open a restaurant. In the west area, the reopening of Soup Stock Tokyo and other hot new restaurants are also expected.
