Gyoten Lectures are held from July to early August. This year, Kyoto's summer tradition, known to those in the know, will be held in various locations.
The time spent placing one's hands in front of the Buddha and listening to the stories of monks and celebrities will surely help one to reflect on oneself and clear one's mind.
The Gyoten Zazen-kai and Green Shade Lecture are held at Kenninji Temple, the head temple of the Kenninji School of Rinzai Zen Buddhism, founded in the 2nd year of Kennin.
After preparing your mind through zazen, you can experience a memorable Dharma talk.

Gyoten" means the sky at dawn. The "Gyokuten Lecture" is held as a place to listen to and encounter the teachings of Shinshu in the clear dawn air.
For five days from August 1 to 5 each year, a Buddhist service is held in the main hall at 6:30 a.m., followed by a Dharma talk by an invited lecturer (scheduled to end at 7:30 p.m.).

The Gyoten Lecture is an annual event at the Myoshinji Daihojo, where early morning zazen is followed by a Dharma talk in the form of a recitation (zazen). Zazen can be done in seiza or in a sitting position.
