The 15th Kyoto American Food Fest 2024 will be held on April 27 (Sat.) and 28 (Sun.), 2024, at the Kyoto International Community House.

What an OHINATAful World - This Wonderful World of Ohinata Go" is being held at the Kyoto International Manga Museum until June 25, 2024 (Tuesday). The exhibition, planned to commemorate the 30th anniversary of manga artist Ohinata Goh's debut, will display original drawings and names of many of his works, childhood works, and other materials that offer a glimpse into the secrets of his creativity. [In commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the death of Shotaro Kaga, the creator of the Oyamazaki Villa, this exhibition introduces the "Orchid Album" that he left behind for posterity. The "Orchid Album" is a botanical illustrated book consisting of 104 items: 83 woodblock prints, 14 color illustrations, and 7 monochromatic photographic illustrations. Think of the fragrance of orchids and culture that the young industrialist made bloom in Oyamazaki, and feel the dynamism of the era known as Osaka.

From April 20 (Sat) to May 12 (Sun), 20,000 azaleas will be on display at Mimuroto-ji Temple in Uji, Kyoto. Approximately 20,000 azalea plants will be on display, one of the largest in the Kansai region, with purple, pink and white flowers. The 51st Kameoka Mitsuhide Festival will be held in Kameoka City, Kyoto, on May 3 (Fri., national holiday), 2024, the largest spring festival in the city, to remember and honor the legacy of Mitsuhide Akechi, a great general in the Warring States period who built the foundation of Kameoka. On the day of the festival, visitors can see a parade of about 400 warriors parade through the old castle town. In addition, at "Kamekita Sanga Plaza," there will be stage performances such as cheerleading and brass band performances, as well as a variety of gourmet foods. A Kyoto craft beer event organized by a super public bath will be held in the futsal court adjacent to the super public bath [Fushimi Chikara no Yu] on May 4 (Sat., holiday) and 5 (Sun., holiday), 2024.
About 80 kinds of specialty beers are on standby at this outdoor event in pursuit of the best one to drink on the lawn after a hot bath.
This year's event is titled AfterBathCraftBeer "DARK," and from 5:00 p.m., the venue will be transformed into an adult and mysterious atmosphere! Special dark, deep, and dangerous beers expressing "ayashii" will be served from 22 breweries, including pitch-black and high-alcohol beers. Takashi Murakami, who is at the forefront of contemporary art, will hold his first solo exhibition in Japan in eight years at the Kyocera Museum of Art in Kyoto from February 3 (Sat) to September 1 (Sun), 2024.
This is the first large-scale solo exhibition outside of Tokyo for Murakami, who has been deeply interested in and inspired by Kyoto, where painters were active during the Edo period.
He is currently working on special versions of works inspired by Japanese art, such as the "Korin" series, as well as a number of new works that reference Kyoto and its history, and approximately 160 of his approximately 170 works will be shown for the first time at this exhibition.
