The restaurant is famous for its lunch where people stand in line. A blackboard at the entrance lists the recommended menu for the day. There are two types of seating: a tatami room with a sunken kotatsu and a counter where you can watch the fish being processed right in front of you.
The tuna is processed in the kitchen and served in today's bowl, while the flounder is fried and then marinated in chili sauce. The "extravagant rice" (1,000 yen including tax), served on a single plate, consists of a luxurious bowl of rice topped with fish purchased at the central market on the same day, a whole horse mackerel, salad, and homemade steamed egg custard. The bowl of rice topped with fresh fish is topped with a generous amount of egg yolk mixed with soy sauce and wasabi. The dish can be finished with a bowl of dashi broth and served as chazuke. At Yumedokoro Fishermen's Restaurant Zoguoya, located west of Karasuma Rokkaku, you can enjoy luxurious fish dishes at a reasonable price.

This teppan izakaya restaurant was relocated from Rokkaku-dori a while ago. Upon entering the restaurant, you will find a wide space in the back, with comfortable and relaxing sunken kotatsu seating, table seating, and counter seating. Above the counter seats, recommended menus are written with illustrations. The set meal menu is extensive, and to the restaurant's surprise, there is a choice of two types of daily set meals. The daily set meal "Tonkatsu and Ozukuri" (990 yen including tax) is a plate of fresh fish and crispy fried pork cutlet purchased on the day. This hearty set meal comes with salad, sashimi, and soup, and the freshly fried pork cutlet is served with tartar sauce. Inside the restaurant, counter seats are arranged around the kitchen, and customers can have their yakisoba made on an iron plate in front of them. The menu offers a choice of sauce or salt, thick or thin noodles. We had the "Sauce Yakisoba with thin noodles" (750 yen including tax). Cabbage and pork stir-fried on a hot griddle are combined with noodles and tossed in a homemade sauce. The savory aroma of the sauce stimulates the appetite.
