Mimikenbetsu, where you can enjoy Kyoto's food culture "Branded Kyoto Vegetables Summer Cooking Fair" starts on August 21, 2012.

An event to enjoy Kyoto vegetables, "Branded Kyoto Vegetables Summer Cooking Fair," will be held from August 21 (Sun.).
Enjoy a special course using an abundance of seasonal Kyoto vegetables at four restaurants offering them.

Kujo leeks, Manganji peppers, Fushimi peppers, Kamo eggplants, etc... Kyoto vegetables have been introduced since ancient times. Each vegetable has its own history and cultural story, and the more you learn about them, the more fascinating they become, such as the fact that they are more nutritious than ordinary vegetables.
In order to introduce more people to such Kyoto vegetables and to pass on Kyoto's culinary culture, four Kyoto ryotei restaurants will offer original menus at this fair for a limited time only.

[Kyoto Cuisine ISOBE] Special dish of Kyoto vegetables and yuba 6000 yen (tax not included)

[Kyoto Cuisine Torihime] 17,490 yen (including tax and service charge)

[Special summer-inspired "Branded Kyoto Vegetables" kaiseki, 8,000 yen (tax and service charge included)

Participating restaurants include Tankuma Kitaten Honten, Kyoto Cuisine Isobe, Kyoto Cuisine Torihime, and Kyoto-Uji Matcha Cuisine Tatsumiya.

Each restaurant will offer a special menu featuring brand-name Kyoto vegetables and a Kyoto-inspired menu featuring at least two Kyoto vegetables and at least one agricultural, forestry or marine product from Kyoto Prefecture.
