Kyoto cuisine parent-child culture experience project

Experience the charm of Kyoto cuisine! Parents and children can participate in the project starting in September.

From September 2022, the “Kyoto Cuisine Parent-Child Culture Experience Project”, where parents and children can learn about Kyoto cuisine, will start for elementary and junior high school students living in or attending school in Kyoto and their parents. You can experience authentic Kyoto cuisine at a restaurant in Kyoto city.

The event was planned with the hope that children will become more familiar with Kyoto's intangible cultural heritage, "Kyo Ryori," and learn that it is a culture that should be carefully passed down to future generations.
The world of Kyoto cuisine is generally thought of as a hurdle to overcome, but this program allows participants to experience "genuine chef's Kyoto cuisine" and learn not only the cuisine, but also the spirit of hospitality, the decorations, the utensils used in cooking, and other important elements that make up Kyoto cuisine.
