Kyoto has been implementing various projects to revitalize the local community as "another Kyoto," a Kyoto of the sea, forests, and tea. This time, we received news from Miyazu City in northern Kyoto Prefecture, which is positioned as the "Kyoto of the Sea," that "Amanohashidate Crab Marche" opened on November 25, 2017! In December 2017, Marintopia Resort, a popular resort facility in the Amanohashidate area, one of the three most scenic spots in Japan, opened the Amanohashidate Crab Marché in cooperation with Marunaka Suisan, a fishing port in Manito, Tango Peninsula, to sell live crabs at wholesale prices. The crab can be brought to Marintopia Resort's accommodation facilities as well as for souvenirs, and the staff cooks them on the spot into crab casserole and crab sticks, which can be enjoyed in guest rooms with individual hot spring baths.
Furthermore, the price of crabs is much more reasonable than those at retail stores or souvenir stores. Other exciting offers include tagged brand crabs from Tsuiyama Port (5,000 yen and up), "special" crabs (2,800 yen and up), and "Matsuba Gani (Matsuba crab) related surprise events" held every weekend. This winter, let's go to "Amanohashidate Crab Marche" to enjoy hot springs and reasonably priced crabs.
